The Indonesian Maritime Archaeology Society is an institution (association) that is legally a legal entity. Our membership is open to anyone who cares about this sector – both interested entities and aware entities, professional archaeologists, historians, academics, practitioners, entrepreneurs, artists, recreational divers, commercial divers, and other professionals.
Initially named the Indonesian Underwater Archaeology Society (2007-2019), in 2019 it officially changed its name to the Indonesian Maritime Archaeology Society Association, in this case later referred to as the Association. This renewal is intended for professional organization. By fully following the legislation related to the General Legal Administration of Indonesia. In substance, the vision and mission of the Association collaborate with entities that truly put awareness on underwater and/or maritime cultural heritage. Both in terms of curation, dissemination and media related to this sector. In addition, the Association also campaigns for advocacy of knowledge and understanding of underwater and/or maritime cultural heritage in the scope of governance -regulation- and transcendent aspects in both the private and public sectors.
Understanding the interest and awareness of this sector raises an awareness of how the underwater and/or maritime cultural heritage sector is an inclusive framework and is not constrained by rigidity in various ways to collaborate. With various approaches, collaboration, involvement and cooperation, both individually, associations, associations, public institutional entities in this sector, based on an understanding of cultural substance with various parties as well.

Siodin Kho – Professional diver, Course Director (Instructor Trainer). Lucas Partanda Koestoro – Archaeologist, researcher of the national archaeological authority (ret.). More than 30 years of service. Becoming a professional researcher and freelance teacher and cultural heritage expert now. Author of journals, scientific archaeological publications and books focusing on archaeological subjects related to the water – maritime – dimension. Ethics and Scientific Council at the Association

Rita Margaretha Setianingsih – Epigraph, researcher at the national archaeological authority and lecturer at a university in the field of culture (ret.). More than 30 years of service. Author of epigraphic journals and scientific publications. Author of books in the field of ecomuseums focusing on the elaboration of culture, environment and quality tourism. Independent Associate.

Romo Hartono – Cultural Artist; an actor who explores and manifests culture – from the arts of movement, visual arts, theater, music, film, and all its branches including in the field of keris. Substantial inclusiveness manifested in all sectors of space; education, environment, food & energy, social etc. Independent Associate

Rahmat YW – Media & Public communication; has been involved in the world of photo and film journalism for more than 25 years. After retiring from the world of journalism and film, now a media & communication specialist. Associate of media ethics & dissemination.

Peri Sandi – known for his works and poetry readings; involved in the world of literature and poetry until now. Lecturer at a leading art institute. In addition to being a lecturer, he continues to be actively and intensively involved in social research within a cultural framework. Associate of media ethics & dissemination.
